Vibrant Quality of Life Key to Attracting Millennials
Local hotels, restaurants and attractions like the Legoland Discovery Center and the iFly skydiving venue at Westchester’s Ridge Hill were part of The Yonkers Tourism Alliance Expo on April 5 at Empire City Casino.
The event showcased the many activities that are making Westchester a vibrant place, particularly in Yonkers which is currently positioning itself as an alternative to Brooklyn and Hoboken with its Generation Yonkers campaign.
BCW President and CEO Marsha Gordon said the Expo highlighted many of the amenities that young people are looking for as they consider moving into some of the residential developments that are rising in the county’s urban centers. “The article this week in the Wall Street Journal about Yonkers and its Generation Yonkers ad campaign positions Yonkers as the next urban frontier for Millennials and a tourism destination with great restaurants, retail and more.,” said Gordon. “Through the Business Council of Westchester’s urban centers initiative we have learned that these new residents want to be in a city that has all the ingredients of live, work , play and the event at Empire City Casino certainly showcases all the jewels in Yonkers strong and vibrant quality of life .”
