WIN Member ShelterZoom Signs Major Deal with Software Firm

ShelterZoom, a smart-document provider and a founding member of the BCW’s Westchester Innovation Network (WIN), has signed a master distribution agreement with Cranel Inc., a distributor of document management software.
Cranel is a U.S.-based provider of document management software and hardware solutions with more than 1,000 resellers in their North American network. Cranel specializes in healthcare and financial services, both target sectors for ShelterZoom.
“Cranel has already started preparing the onboarding documentation and a Document GPS rollout plan. We believe this partnership will enable us to reach new heights of success,” said Chao Cheng-Shorland, ShelterZoom’s co-founder and CEO.
ShelterZoom’s products, including Document GPS and DocuWalk, leverage blockchain to provide organizations and individuals with an unprecedented ability to monitor and control access of sensitive documents and digital material through tokenization. Its latest security innovation to Document GPS will be the addition of a filter to thwart screenshots from cellphone cameras and other devices.
As the company moves into Q2, it will launch a major release that resolves an Outlook Windows client incompatibility issue, and it will also unveil significant improvements in microservices. Additionally, ShelterZoom will soon release the Android beta version of Document GPS as well as the web application.
ShelterZoom’s deal with Cranel comes months after its fourth-quarter expansion into the European market, with the opening of a tech hub in Lisbon, Portugal for research, development, and enhanced customer support.
Last year, the BCW matched ShelterZoom with the Fullerton Beck law firm in White Plains and Dorf & Nelson in Rye to conduct the company’s first legal-sector test of its secure-document technology. ShelterZoom’s work with the two Westchester law firms included the streamlining of document sharing during the discovery process.
The pairing is part of WIN’s effort to drive economic development, innovation, and growth within Westchester County.
“The amazing product improvements that ShelterZoom continues to unveil are partly due to collaboration with partners like Fullerton Beck and Dorf & Nelson, who were able to give valuable feedback about Document GPS,” said Dr. Marsha Gordon, the BCW’s President and CEO. “We see almost daily reports about data breeches and stolen documents, which is why ShelterZoom’s innovations are providing essential protection to businesses that handle sensitive information.”
