Wegmans to Open in June Signaling Rebirth of I-287 Corridor
At long last, Wegmans has announced it will open its Westchester grocery store in June.
The Rochester-based, family-owned grocer this week finally announced that it will open its first Westchester store at 106 Corporate Park Drive in Harrison near I-287 on June 7.
Wegmans opening is part of an entire repurposing of the I-287 corridor along Westchester Avenue that will see a rebirth of the area, said Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of the Business Council of Westchester, “Wegmans has proven to be an amazing corporate partner and we are thrilled that they are coming here to Westchester. But even more exciting is that their opening signals a rebirth of the I-287 Corridor that opens up new possibilities for stimulating economic development in Westchester.”
The store announced that is it is looking to fill 280 part-time positions in addition to the 220 full-time jobs it began hiring for last year. Applicants are encouraged to apply online at jobs.wegmans.com/harrison or call 914-539-3700 for more information.
Currently, the closest Wegmans is in Montvale, New Jersey, just over the Rockland County border, which opened in 2017.
