ONS Welcomes Rheumatologist Melissa LaRusso, D.O.
Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS), the leading provider of multi-specialty orthopedic and neurosurgery services in Connecticut and Westchester, announced today the appointment of Melissa LaRusso, D.O. Dr. LaRusso is a board-certified Rheumatologist and will see patients in the ONS offices in Greenwich and Stamford.
Dr. LaRusso graduated with a degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine Old Westbury, NY. She performed her internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, NY and completed her Rheumatology Fellowship at North Shore-LIJ Health System Manhasset, NY.
“We are pleased that Dr. LaRusso has joined our growing team of orthopaedic specialists, neurosurgeons and physiatrists. Her experience in collaborating with orthopedics and physiatrists will serve our patients and the community well,” said Katherine B. Vadasdi, M.D., Chief Clinical Officer, ONS.

Orthopedic specialists and rheumatologists both focus on a patient’s joints, muscles, and bones, however rheumatologists focus more on joint disorders caused by autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and psoriatic arthritis as well as gout, while orthopedic surgeons specialize in treating a broad range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions that sometimes require surgery.
