October 17, 2017 Arc of Westchester Foundation to Host “A Matter of Taste”
The Arc of Westchester Foundation, which is dedicated to increasing public awareness and raising financial resources to support Arc of Westchester’s programs and services for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, will host its 14th annual “A Matter of Taste” fundraiser on Tuesday, October 17 at Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle. The event will feature signature cuisine prepared by the finest chefs in the area, accompanied by a wide assortment of fine wine and craft beer.
“A Matter of Taste” will include two awards of recognition: the Family Partner Award, which will be given to the Landegger Family, and the Legacy Award, which will bestowed upon Arc of Westchester Executive Director Richard P. Swierat. This year’s event will be emceed by Lisa Salvadorini, Award-winning anchor from News 12 Westchester and News 12 Hudson Valley.
Culinary participants at this year’s event include: Auray Gourmet, Caperberry Events, Chocolations, Chop’T Creative Salad Company, Culinary Tech Center, Doral Arrowwood Hotel and Conference Center, Eastchester Fish Gourmet, Glen Island Harbour Club, Lexington Square Café, Little Crepe Street, Little Drunken Chef, Little Kabob Station, Lulu Cake Boutique, Mima Vinoteca, North Street Tavern, Poppy’s Cheesecake, Rivermarket Bar and Kitchen, Texas de Brazil, The Great American Barbeque Co., The Rye Roadhouse, The Twisted Branch, Tramonto, Winston, Village Social and Zuppa.
Beverage participants include: Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, Path Coffee Roasters, Toma Bloody Mary Mix and Yonkers Brewery Co.
In addition to delicious food and drink, the event will also include a fabulous silent auction featuring prizes ranging from gift cards to jewelry to trips.
“This signature fundraising event, which raises funds to support innovative, comprehensive, and lifelong services for thousands of individuals and families impacted by autism and other developmental disabilities, has continued to get bigger and better each year, thanks to the generosity of our donors and the Westchester community. With the culinary and beverage partners we have confirmed, as well as our very deserving honorees, I have no doubt that this will be our best year yet,” said Nancy Patota, executive director of the Arc of Westchester Foundation.
Arc of Westchester, founded in 1949, is the largest agency in Westchester County supporting children, teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including individuals on the autism spectrum, and their families. Over 800 employees provide more than 2,000 individuals throughout the county with a broad range of innovative and effective programs and services designed to foster independence, productivity and participation in community life.
