Families Get Mental Health Counseling Through New COVID-19 Relief Initiative
More than 60 families have received mental health services thanks to a new comprehensive COVID-19 Relief Initiative that is the result of a partnership between The Child & Family institute and the Weissman Children’s Foundation (WCF), a start-up national nonprofit organization specializing in evidence-based mental health treatments (EBTs) for children, young adults and their families.
The program stepped up its timeline to roll out a comprehensive COVID-19 Relief Initiative, featuring 15 sites throughout the country and telehealth services nationwide, with headquarters here in Westchester County. The foundation is initiating fundraising efforts and grant requests to continue supporting clinical, research, and training partnerships underway, including a collaboration with Columbia University Teacher’s College servicing Harlem, the Bronx, and other COVID-afflicted NYC neighborhoods.
