Carver Center Benefits from Rising Stars Dance Competition
The Business Council of Westchester’s young business leaders “The Rising Stars” were busy dancing the night away on “Giving Tuesday” to raise funds for their chosen charity, The Carver Center in Port Chester.
Five dance teams competed in the “Dancing with The Rising Stars” program at White Plains Performing Arts Center on November 29. The winner was Rising Star Jordan Brooks and his partner professional dance instructor Yuliya Zubova of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Mount Kisco.
The Carver Center is the largest and longest running community center in Port Chester. Founded in 1943, its mission is to provide individuals and families with the resources and support needed to lead productive, healthy, and independent lives.
Thanks to the other competitors: Rising Star Heather Oboda and Andrei Svirydzenka of Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Mount Kisco; Rising Star Lucinda Cross and Eddie Melendez of The Greenwich Ballroom; Rising Star Jonelle Ward and Moises Guerreo of Arthur Murray Dance Studio in White Plains and Rising Star Marc Miller and Andrea Ortiz of Arthur Murray Dance Studio of White Plains.
The evening included a special performance by Westchester Circus Arts featuring Rising Stars Alumni Hilary Sweeney and Daniel Saab. A special thank you to our Rising Stars Alumni judges Jerry McKinstry, Andrew Castellano, Maria Bronzi and Eon Nichols and to Jamie Johnson for hosting the event.
