Hartsdale, NY (January 10,2022) – The Westchester Community Foundation welcomes Moira S. Laidlaw, partner at Hollis Laidlaw & Simon, P.C. to the Foundation’s Advisory Board. Ms. Laidlaw’s private practice includes a broad range of trust and estate services. She is experienced in elder law, special needs planning, small business planning, and high net worth estate tax planning.
Ms. Laidlaw is a Certified Elder Law Attorney, one of 400 attorneys in the U.S. who hold this designation, as accredited by the National Elder Law Foundation and the American Bar Association. She frequently lectures on topics that impact the elderly and special needs communities.
Ms. Laidlaw earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley, and her J.D., from Rutgers University School of Law.
She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, the Westchester County Bar Association, the Westchester Women’s Bar Association, and the Northern Westchester Bar Association.
She is co-chair of the Westchester County Bar Association Trusts and Estates Section; board member of the Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter; vice chair to Executive Committee Member of the New York State Bar Association Elder Law and Special Needs Section; Co-Chair of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association Elder Law Committee; and was recently admitted to STEP, an international estate planning academy. Ms. Laidlaw is the author of “Mental Health Directives in Estate Planning Engagements,” in Trusts & Estates Journal.
