YSA Celebrates 40 Years with Event Benefiting Special Olympics

Yorkville Sports Association (YSA), a leader in facilitating corporate recreational sports leagues throughout New York City and Westchester County, recently ‘kicked off’ its 40 years in business with a special event benefiting Special Olympics NY – Hudson Valley. Attendees kicked balls into a net on the green of Solaris, a sports club in Yorktown Heights, with each goal contributing to donations for the cause. “We are truly grateful for the community’s unwavering support,” said YSA’s Founder and CEO, Al Morales. “With its backing, we have been able to pay it forward by supporting organizations such as the Special Olympics, that make an immeasurable impact on our community.”

The event began with remarks from Morales, followed by John Winton, director of community affairs & special projects at the Office of New York State Senator Terrance Murphy, who congratulated Morales and his team on their success and presented an official proclamation on behalf of Terrance Murphy. Joining in the kudos were Yorktown Supervisor, Ilan Gilbert, Yorktown Chamber of Commerce representative, Sergio Esposito and Director of Development of Special Olympics New York – Hudson Valley, Teresa Gilli, who was joined by three Special Olympics athletes. Additionally, Yorktown Town Councilman, Ed Lachterman presented Morales with a proclamation on behalf of the Westchester Board of Legislators as well as a Certificate of Merit on behalf of Westchester County Executive, George Latimer.
