The event began with remarks from Morales, followed by John Winton, director of community affairs & special projects at the Office of New York State Senator Terrance Murphy, who congratulated Morales and his team on their success and presented an official proclamation on behalf of Terrance Murphy. Joining in the kudos were Yorktown Supervisor, Ilan Gilbert, Yorktown Chamber of Commerce representative, Sergio Esposito and Director of Development of Special Olympics New York – Hudson Valley, Teresa Gilli, who was joined by three Special Olympics athletes.
