Richard Adams and Kevin Hasselwander Earn Professional Licenses
Poughkeepsie, N.Y. (October 1, 2019) – The Chazen Companies is proud to announce that Richard Adams and Kevin Hasselwander have earned their Professional Engineering license (P.E.) and Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) in the State of New York, respectively.
Adams’s successful completion of the Principals of Engineering exam through the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) will allow him to prepare, sign, and submit engineering plans and drawings for public and private clients, including municipalities. The P.E. Exam is designed for engineers who have gained a minimum of four years of post-graduate work experience in their chosen discipline.
Adams has 11 years of consulting engineering experience that includes projects involving water treatment and transmission, wastewater collection and treatment, stormwater management, site design and transportation planning. He graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He has been with Chazen since 2013 as a Project Engineer in the Municipal Engineering group in Glens Falls. Adams currently lives in Saratoga Springs.
Hasselwander’s passing of the Landscape Architect Registration Exam by the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) makes him a certified Landscape Architect in the State of New York. The exam is taken by individuals who have at minimum a four-year undergraduate degree and four years of experience in the field.
Hasselwander’s design experience includes projects in the municipal, institutional, academic, commercial, and residential sectors ranging in scale from intimate courtyards to overall comprehensive master plans. His project involvement runs across the spectrum from putting pen to paper during concept design to managing projects through construction documentation and implementation. He graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Landscape Architecture/Horticulture and has been with Chazen since 2014 as a Landscape Designer and Project Manager for the Capital District office in Troy. Hasselwander resides in Waterford.
“We are proud that Richard and Kevin completed the rigorous steps necessary to earn their designations” said Mark Kastner, P.E., Senior Principal, President, The Chazen Companies. “We congratulate them on this very significant milestone in their professional careers.”
