Dorf Nelson & Zauderer LLP Elevates Melissa G. Andrieux, Esq. to Partner – A Leader in Diversity, Client Relations, and Litigation Recognized for Her Impact
January 20, 2025 – Rye, NY – Dorf Nelson & Zauderer LLP (DNZ) is proud to announce the promotion of Melissa G. Andrieux, Esq. to Partner. Ms. Andrieux currently serves as Counsel in the firm’s Litigation Department, as well as Chief Diversity Officer and Client Relations Officer. Her dynamic leadership in litigation, diversity and inclusion, and client engagement has been instrumental in DNZ’s impressive growth and success.
Since joining DNZ in 2018, Ms. Andrieux has distinguished herself as a seasoned litigator, successfully managing complex cases and delivering results for the firm’s clients. In her role as Chief Diversity Officer (CDO), she has spearheaded Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) initiatives to attract, recruit, and retain talent while fostering an inclusive firm culture. She also advises firm clients and other businesses on implementing their own effective D&I strategies. As a leading D&I professional, Ms. Andrieux is regularly called upon to share her insights through speaking engagements and media features.
Ms. Andrieux has also served as the firm’s Client Relations Officer, tapping into her extensive experience in marketing, business development, and recruitment to drive business growth within the firm. Through strategic marketing, client engagement, and thought leadership, she continues to strengthen the firm’s relationships, expand its reach, and solidify its reputation as a growing legal powerhouse in the region.
“Melissa’s dedication to excellence, innovation, and inclusion has significantly enriched the culture and success of our firm,” said Jon A. Dorf, Managing Partner of DNZ. “Her dynamic leadership in D&I and client relations, paired with her sharp legal acumen in litigation, makes her an invaluable asset to the firm’s future. We are thrilled to welcome her as a Partner and look forward to her continued impact.”
While in her role as CDO, DNZ became the first law firm in the U.S. to receive Gender Fair Certification in 2019, recognizing its commitment to diversity and inclusion, and also expanded its Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programming which Andrieux oversees.
Ms. Andrieux’s contributions extend beyond DNZ. In 2023, she was named Ambassador of the Year by the Business Council of Westchester (BCW) and recognized as one of the Power Players in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion by PoliticsNY and amMetro New York. She also won the American Heart Association’s 2023 Long Island Woman of Impact Award. A frequent speaker on D&I topics, she has presented at prominent events such as the New York State Legislature’s Annual Program and the Office of the New York State Attorney General CLE series.
“It’s an incredible honor to step into this new role,” said Melissa G. Andrieux. “DNZ’s commitment to diversity, client service, and legal excellence has provided a platform to innovate and grow. I look forward to continuing to advance these values and contribute to the firm’s ongoing success.”
Ms. Andrieux earned her J.D. from New York Law School and her B.S. from St. John’s University. Before joining DNZ, she served as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County and as a civil litigator at a prominent New York firm.
Andrieux’s appointment follows a year of significant growth for DNZ. At the start of 2024, the firm expanded into Midtown Manhattan at 475 Fifth Avenue, a bold move that defied the trend of businesses scaling down in New York City. This milestone was headlined by the arrival of Mark C. Zauderer, a renowned New York trial and appellate attorney, and set the tone for continued strategic growth throughout the year.
In November, DNZ continued this momentum with the acquisition of Segal & Greenberg LLP, an industry-leading matrimonial firm. This acquisition welcomed Margery A. Greenberg to the firm as Partner and Chair of DNZ’s newly established Matrimonial and Family Law Department, where her extensive experience in mediation and family law adds a new dimension to the firm’s offerings. Joining her are distinguished attorneys Olga Batsedis and Sara L. Hiltzik, whose expertise further elevates DNZ’s matrimonial and family law capabilities.
This year, DNZ will continue to strengthen its position as a leader in litigation, corporate law, tax, commercial real estate and land use, intellectual property, life sciences, labor and employment, commercial and real property finance, professional liability defense and healthcare and general liability defense, AI and cybersecurity, arbitration, and more, with further expansions on the horizon.
