Leading rehabilitation provider opens state-of-the-art facility to serve more
tri-state area patients
Scarsdale, NY (April 14, 2025): Burke Rehabilitation® announced today the opening of its newest outpatient facility, located in Scarsdale, New York. The state-of-the-art facility is a key initiative of the organization’s multi-year plan to expand its nationally recognized, comprehensive physical rehabilitation care to more individuals across the tri-state area. In 2024, Burke Rehabilitation recorded close to 180,000 outpatient visits, a 14% growth compared to the previous year.
“We are incredibly proud to open our new Scarsdale outpatient therapy site, which exemplifies our mission-driven expansion to extend the Burke Rehabilitation patient-centered care approach to even more individuals with rehabilitative needs,” said Burke Rehabilitation Executive Director, Scott Edelman, CPA, MBA, CFE. “Continued outpatient expansion is an important part of our commitment to meet the evolving needs of patients, ensuring more individuals can benefit from our award-winning care and expertise.”
The Scarsdale outpatient therapy site will support approximately 18,000 patient visits annually and is expected to employ up to 14 therapists once fully staffed. The multidisciplinary site will offer a full range of services for individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries and neurological conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury, and concussions, in addition to a variety of other diagnoses. Services provided will include:
• Physical Therapy, including Sports Injuries
• Occupational Therapy
• Speech Therapy
• Vestibular Therapy
• Concussion Management
The 6,100-square-foot facility features four exam rooms, multiple treatment bays, and unique equipment including a specialized lift system designed to support therapy for patients recovering from strokes, spinal cord injuries, or other neurological conditions. The open, modern space includes an approximately 3,000-square-foot gym, a supportive environment with ample room for patients to work one-on-one with their therapists for personalized exercises and therapy techniques that support their recovery goals.
Designed by Cardarelli & Associates Architects and constructed by MCG Construction, the facility’s design also reflects Burke’s commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint. The facility features LED lighting to reduce energy consumption, as well as water and energy efficiency features. Sustainable and low volatile organic compound (VOC) materials were selected for finishes and furniture.
“At Burke Rehabilitation, we are continually focused on how we can strengthen our services to not only reach more patients but also meet them where they are to better support their recovery goals,” said Burke Rehabilitation Vice President Outpatient Services, Steven Tisser, PT, MBA. “We are thrilled to continue expanding our footprint with this latest site, our 14th outpatient facility, making Burke’s patient-centered care more accessible to individuals in Scarsdale and the surrounding area.”
Located at 750 White Plains Road, Scarsdale, NY, 10583, the site will initially be open Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM, with the expectation of extended hours once fully staffed. The facility will neighbor a new White Plains Hospital Physician Associates multi-specialty physician practice and imaging center. Opening this summer, the White Plains Hospital Physician Associates practice will be home to 40 physicians in a variety of specialties, including orthopedics and pain management, internal medicine, OB/GYN, cardiology, neurology, and more.
