Grand Opening of The New York Milk Bank’s New Facility
The New York Milk Bank is proud to announce the Grand Opening of their new state-of-the-art facility in Valhalla, NY. The 2500 sq. ft. facility houses a gorgeous new lab with two pasteurizers and a large walk-in freezer so that NYMB can meet the growing demand for donor human milk. The need for donor milk is increasing now that Medicaid is reimbursing for donor milk for premature and sick infants. Donor milk is known to reduce the risk of necrotizing enterocolitis an often fatal disease of the intestines when premature infants are fed anything other than mothers’ milk. Using donor milk saves lives and improves the health outcomes of our most vulnerable population – tiny preemies!
