Cybersecurity Program to Offer Businesses Advice on Securing Data

Businesses large and small must take steps to secure their data, particularly in light of last week’s ransomware attacks which crippled major institutions across Europe. Although the attacks were limited in the United States, experts say that cybersecurity must be a priority.

To this end, the Business Council of Westchester is offering the business community resources it needs to tackle these issues. On Wednesday, May 31 from 8-9:30 a.m. Tompkins Mahopac Bank will be presenting a very relevant program: Cyber Security: The Challenges All Companies Are Facing & How to Manage the Risks at The Crowne Plaza in White Plains.

Experts will share how to better protect your endpoints, move faster to detect threats and the most effective ways to respond to security breaches across all types and sizes of companies.

Robert Cioffi, Owner,  Progressive Computing, Inc., will moderate a panel including Matthew F. Tormey, Chief Criminal Investigator, Westchester County District Attorney’s Office; Bill Moylan, Senior Director, Cyber Investigations, Kroll; Kevin Harrington, Managing Partner, Harrington, Ocko & Monk, LLP;Tom Morley-Director, NY State Small Business Development Center Westchester/Rockland and Ken FuirstPresident, Levitt-Fuirst Associates, LTD

“The Business Council of Westchester is well aware of the threats that cybercrimes pose to all of us,’’ said Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of the Business Council of Westchester. “We hope our members will take advantage of this very timely program and learn what steps their businesses should take to protect themselves against attacks.’’
