Hot Dog! Walter’s Opens Second Location in White Plains

BCW Member Walter’s Hot Dog is now open in White Plains. Mayor Tom Roach and Katharine Warrington-Woodward, great-granddaughter of Walter, were among the family members and dignitaries to attend a ribbon cutting event on August 28 at the new location on Mamaroneck Avenue.

Walter’s Hot Dog, an institution since it opened its stand on Palmer Avenue in Mamaroneck in 1928, is wildly popular, offering a classic split hot dog, as well as its Puffy Dog, which is a hot dog topped with two smashed potato puffs, Funnel Cake Sticks topped with powdered sugar and homemade Italian ices. Warrington-Woodward and Gene Christian-Baca of Walter’s were previous BCW 40 under 40 Rising Star award winners.

“We’re proud to have this iconic Westchester business choose White Plains,” said Roach of the new, 50-seat restaurant. “They’ve done a great job with the store highlighting the historic nature of the business in this very new and modern space.”

This Walter’s third location. Walter’s opened its first eatery outside of Mamaroneck in Stamford, Connecticut last year.
