Stepping Into Leadership: Kayla Hannemann of Impact PR Named To PRSA – Westchester/Fairfield Board

Demonstrating her commitment to professional development among her industry peers, Kayla Hannemann, account executive at public relations and marketing firm Impact PR & Communications, Ltd., has been elected secretary and treasurer of the board of the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Westchester/Fairfield chapter. PRSA is the nation’s largest community of public relations and communications professionals, committed to advancing the field of public relations.

The newly elected leaders, including Hannemann, began their term effective January 1 and will serve on a seven-member board alongside previously elected members, including Kate Wark, executive vice president at Impact PR & Communications, who has held an active leadership role within PRSA’s Westchester/Fairfield chapter for the past four years.

Other elected officers for 2025 include:
• President – Laurent Lawrence, APR, Atlas Air
• Vice President – Christina Rae, Buzz Creators
• Directors 2025-2027 – Kellie Harris, Corporate Communications Strategies and Liz Neiman, International Society of Automation
• Director 2024-2026 – Dawn Dankner-Rosen, DDR PR
• Director 2023-2025 – Brandi Boatner, IBM

“Kayla getting more deeply involved in PRSA is in line with our agency’s dedication to professional development at all levels and to nurturing career paths and high ethical standards for practitioners within Westchester and Fairfield counties,” said Wark. “Her contributions and fresh energy make her a fantastic addition to the board.”

Always eager to connect with the Hudson Valley community, Hannemann has co-presented for Dutchess Tourism’s popular Lunch & Learn series, hosted an interactive workshop on social media for the Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC) and Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce, and delivered presentations for United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region and Dutchess Tourism this winter. She regularly shares her PR expertise, including contributing to Impact PR’s blog and PR News Online. Hannemann, a Marist University graduate with a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications, resides in Newton, New Jersey.

Involvement in PRSA is of great importance to Impact PR, an award-winning PR and communications agency with a three-state footprint and base in New York’s Hudson Valley. The agency’s CEO, Filomena Fanelli, previously served on the executive committee of PRSA’s Counselors Academy and is the group’s past conference chair and also serves as the professional advisor to Marist University’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
