Ambassador of the Year Honored at BCW’s Annual New Year Blast

Nearly 300 BCW members were on hand for a festive evening of food, drink and networking at the BCW’s Annual New Year Blast held Tuesday at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown.

The evening event featured the presentation of the Ambassador of the Year Award to Jennifer Flowers, Founder & CEO-Accreditation Guru, Inc. A BCW member since 2011, Flowers is Founder and CEO of Accreditation Guru, Inc. A nationally renowned expert in accreditation and nonprofit governance, Flowers has devoted her 20+ year career to working with a variety of organizations in the social services, behavioral healthcare, and education sectors, including the role of Director of Accreditation Commission at the Council on Accreditation (COA).

“It was an honor to present the Ambassador of the Year award to Jennifer Flowers at our New Year Blast.  Jennifer has been such a committed Ambassador to new members for many years, and she truly makes a difference in their BCW experience,” said Michael Schiliro, SVP, PCSB Bank, BCW Board member and Chair of Ambassadors Club.

The BCW’s Ambassador Program was created 18 years ago and has become one of the BCW’s prized signature programs. Ambassadors are an integral part of the BCW membership experience. Every member that joins the BCW is paired with an Ambassador/mentor. This person works closely with new members, welcoming and connecting them with fellow members. Ambassadors also work with new members to ensure they are utilizing the many benefits and resources the BCW has to offer.

Prior to the New Year Blast, the BCW held a New Member Reception on Monday afternoon at the Westchester Marriott which was attended by more than 100 business professionals. The BCW has more than 1,000 members including 150 Not For Profit organizations. In 2022, the BCW welcomed a record-breaking 238 members. 2023 is anticipated to be very busy as well!
