BCW’s WIN Adding Three New Partners
The BCW’s Westchester Innovation Network (WIN) has added new partners that will be matched with local collaborators to test new technologies and products. The new WIN partners are Rainbow International Restoration of Westchester; Radish Health Inc.; and Kuponya Innovations.
The BCW is finalizing details for Rainbow International Restoration of Westchester to work with the Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers to test its LaserClean technology, a green innovation that removes fire/soot damage from buildings’ exteriors without the use of dangerous chemicals. Most recently, the LaserClean technology was successfully used to restore the exterior at 7 Pines Tower in Yonkers, which suffered a serious fire last year.
Radish Health is a healthcare company that helps organizations stay healthy by providing convenient medical services directly to employees, including primary care, mental health, and nutritional coaching. One of Radish Health’s clients is the Town of Babylon, which began using the service in 2020. Through Radish Health, Babylon offers its staff medical care, talk therapy, and nutrition consults through Radish Health, and a physical trainer to build exercise plans. Of the town’s 646 employees, 505 have engaged with Radish Health’s services 3,109 times since the beginning of the partnership, notching a 78% utilization rate and an average of 6.1 interactions per employee over the course of about a year. Radish Health will partner with the BCW.
Kuponya Innovations is an early-stage start-up focused on developing new construction materials from natural, sustainable sources. The company’s current research and development focus is on finding applications for industrial hemp, one of nature’s fastest-growing plants. Kuponya is investigating how industrial hemp can be used as insulation material. Kuponya will partner with Murphy Brothers Contracting to develop its insulation product.
WIN focuses on embracing innovative new companies from Westchester County, across the U.S. and internationally to learn from and co-create with them, and to advance key incentives necessary to get them to grow in Westchester County. Since launching the WIN program in December, a total of 12 companies joined as partners.
