WMC Health Celebrates Project Milestone
Westchester’s reputation for world-class health care reached new heights this week with the topping off of the new $230 million Ambulatory Care Pavilion at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. The 8-story, 280,000-square-foot facility will include an Advanced Imaging Center, Ambulatory Surgery Center and Heart and Vascular Institute, in addition to a 20,000-square-foot expansion in private rooms for the medical center and 75,000 additional square feet for physicians offices.
Today is an exciting day for WMCHealth and for our communities as we celebrate the significant progress that has been made to date on this one-of-a-kind-facility and look forward to the care, innovative technologies and possibilities for the future that will live within its walls, said Michael D. Israel, President and CEO of WMCHealth. The building is the largest health care project in Westchester in decades.
The Ambulatory Care Pavilion will enhance the quality of life for patients in Westchester while creating hundreds of jobs and generating a boost for the local economy truly a winning combination, County Executive Robert P. Astorino said. He noted that the county was able to assist in the opening of this state-of-the-art facility through low-cost financing provided by its Local Development Corporation.
Among the dignitaries attending Wednesday’s ceremony was BCW Executive Vice President and COO John Ravitz. The BCW congratulates the WMC Health on today’s milestone event. This new state-of-the-art facility will further enhance Westchester’s fast-growing health care sector which is crucial to the county’s economic vitality, he said.
