TOMPKINS MAHOPAC BANK OPENS BRANCH-OF-THE FUTURE IN YONKERS

Tompkins Mahopac Bank announces the opening of its state-of-the-art branch in the newly restored and historic Boyce Thompson Center, 1086 N. Broadway, Yonkers, New York. A ribbon cutting will celebrate the opening on July 12.

Unlike conventional banks with glassed-in tellers and a roped-off waiting line, Tompkins’ branch-of-the-future features a universal banker that assists customers on-the-spot, whether that means making a deposit, taking out a loan, directing the person to a nearby tablet for information or otherwise providing assistance.

The public is encouraged to participate in Tompkins Mahopac Banks community coin-drop before and during the ribbon cutting, when the proceeds will be matched by the bank and donated via a large check presentation to Westhab, a large nonprofit that provides affordable housing and supportive services in Westchester County. As well, a lucky winner will be chosen for a Yonkers’ Experience package, including restaurant and limousine service gift cards, plus a $500 MasterCard shopping spree gift card.

The Tompkins branch’s innovative concept was drawn, in part, from Tompkins’ 2016 Millennial Survey, which showed the generation valued the convenient location of a bank, plus the ability to conduct banking business at a branch and online, among other findings.

“Providing top-line customer service is at the center of what we do,” said Gerald J. Klein, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Tompkins Mahopac Bank. “Our commitment to conveniently, effectively and supremely filling our customer’s banking needs means listening to their banking preferences in how we connect with them and do business.”
