The Arc Westchester Announces New Medical Director of Clinic
The Arc Westchester is pleased to announce that Alla Nirenberg, M.D., board certified psychiatrist, has been named medical director of the organization’s Wellness Center. In addition to overseeing the clinic, Dr. Nirenberg is also responsible for all psychiatric evaluations and medication management for individuals with developmental disabilities supported by the organization.
“We are thrilled with the addition of Dr. Nirenberg to our team,” said Tibi Guzmán, Executive Director and CEO of The Arc Westchester. “She brings a passion for working with this population and sensitivity to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families that is integral for this role.”
Dr. Nirenberg has worked with individuals with developmental disabilities throughout her career. She served as a medical director at Putnam ARC for more than 20 years, where she treated patients (including evaluations, assessments and medication management), as well as overseeing a team of mental health professionals and the supervision, evaluation and review of medical charts and policies. Dr. Nirenberg has been a staff member of the Westchester Institute of Human Development since 2001 and has been affiliated with Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College since her residency in 1992. She also has a private practice in the White Plains area.
