Zubeen Shroff Named Board Chair of Westchester County Health Care Corporation
Congratulations to Zubeen Shroff who has been appointed Chair of the Board of Directors the Westchester County Health Care Corporation (WCHCC). The WCHCC operates the WMCHealth, a network consisting of 10 hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and provider practices in New York State’s Hudson Valley region.
Shroff succeeds Mitchell Hochberg, now 1st Vice Chair, whose tenure as Chair reached term limits after three consecutive terms in the position. The appointments of Shroff and Hochberg as Chair and 1st Vice Chair, respectively, were effective January 1, 2022.
“WMCHealth is a dynamic organization that is both a healthcare resource and economic engine for the communities we serve,” said Shroff. “My enthusiasm for this opportunity is rooted in the WMCHealth mission which, in part, is to provide the highest-quality of care for all residents of the Hudson Valley. We will fulfill this portion of our mission in 2022 with the scheduled opening of the reimagined HealthAlliance Hospital on Mary’s Avenue in Kingston and the continued evolution of Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. Many more exciting projects are in our plans and I am honored to serve the Board, and our communities, in this role.”
WMCHealth is a member of the Business Council of Westchester.
Shroff has been a member of WCHCC Board for more than 10 years and has been integral in WMCHealth’s governance since the Network’s founding in 2015. Prior to his appointment as Chair, Shroff served on the Board as 1st Vice Chair as well as the Chair of Patient Experience Committee and the Strategic Planning and Technology Committee.
Shroff is Managing Director of Galen Partners. In addition to his work on the WCHCC Board of Directors, Shroff began volunteering for the Westchester Medical Center Foundation Board in 2005 and has served as Foundation Board Chair.
The remainder of the 2022 WCHCC Board of Directors Executive Committee includes: Mark Tulis, Vice Chair and Treasurer; John Heimerdinger, Vice Chair; Susan Gevertz, Secretary and Michael Israel, President.
