“Wonder Women” and “Supermen” Healthcare Heroes honored by Beyond Flowers and Food on Nurse Appreciation Week
Beyond Flowers and Food donated their “Send to Thank a Frontline Hero” gift packages to some of the ICU nurses at St. John’s Riverside in the hard-hit community of Yonkers. The Dobbs Ferry custom-made gift company run by sisters Beth Turner and Katie Cadman wanted to express its gratitude during National Nurses Week on May 6-12. The packages contained Wonder Woman or Superman socks (female/male versions) for a dose of extra courage on those hard days, as well as a box of 30 pop-open inspiration cards, a motivating message a day to keep them going for the next month. The nurses who were so touched by the gesture told them that they were having the “best day ever” and that they were the “envy of the hospital all day,” as they sported their socks with their scrubs rolled up. The story also appeared on WABC 7’s newscast on May 8th and can be view on Beyond Flowers and Food’s website.
Beth and Katie founded the company in 2012 in honor of their mother who was a nurse.
