Two Westchester Innovation Network participants were recently in news reports that highlighted their innovative solutions for medical privacy and post-incarceration employment.
On January 13, Cointelegraph, a cryptocurrency news site, published a story about how WIN participant ShelterZoom is repurposing cryptocurrency’s blockchain technology for sectors like healthcare. WIN participant ShelterZoom’s document-security software uses blockchain to shield patient medical records from cyber breaches or other unauthorized access. In Westchester, ShelterZoom has worked with the Fullerton Beck and Dorf & Nelson law firms to beta-test its document-security software for the legal sector.
On January 20, AtlantaINNO announced its list of 2023 Startup to Watch, including WIN participant ConConnect, which works with formerly incarcerated people to help them find employment. According to the article, the list was compiled from recommendations from Atlanta’s top technology players. In Westchester, ConConnect worked with the Yonkers Housing Authority to help its formerly incarcerated tenants access job and social services. The article noted that ConConnect has the potential to become a star in Atlanta’s startup ecosystem.
WIN is a proven, multifaceted program from the Business Council of Westchester designed to create an environment within Westchester County that pairs innovative products and services with local organizations to test and learn about emerging technologies in a variety of industries.
