White Plains Partnering With Burbio to Track Events
The City of White Plains announced this week that it will partner with BCW member Burbio to help manage the calendar of the city’s growing number of community events.
Burbio is a free online platform that aggregates community events into a central calendar, making easier for users to manage events.
“We all lead busy lives,” said Mayor Tom Roach. “Between the school calendar, the kids’ extra-curricular activities, family obligations, and work meetings, it’s challenging to just keep track of it all – and that’s without even adding in City events, business events, and the many interesting programs and activities sponsored by our community-based organizations. Enter Burbio: The calendar tool for the modern citizen. Simply identify the calendars you want to follow and Burbio will do the work for you, providing concise information about upcoming events in our community.”
Julie Roche, Burbio co-founder, said, “Burbio’s mission is to leverage technology to drive community engagement. White Plains has everything from regional arts and entertainment to great schools and a dynamic business district, and this initiative by the City shows how governments can cultivate thriving communities.”

Burbio was founded in 2014 by Westchester residents Julie and Dennis Roche. The company is headquartered just a few miles away, in Pelham. A total of over 125 communities, including Yonkers, New Rochelle, Stamford, CT, and Norwalk, CT, have already adopted Burbio; and the reviews have been highly positive.
