Honey Baked Ham of White Plains feeds National Guard and Frontline Workers
Having served in the military for 30 years including several tours of duty in Afghanistan, Rosa Ramirez knows what its like to be on the front lines. That’s why she decided to do her part to keep them well-fed during this crisis.
Her White Plains company Honey Baked Ham was already making food donations once a week, but shifted to focus on frontline workers after the COVID-19 epidemic. They have provided more than 200 boxed lunch meals to Urgent Care of Westchester, White Plains Hospital, Saint Joseph’s Medical Center, White Plains Urgent Care, New Rochelle Fire Department, Feeding Westchester (for the National Guard Soldiers) and some churches, among others.
“We have refocused our mission to solely support our National Guard Soldiers and frontline workers. Although the operation is small compared to others, we could not stand by and not do our part,’’ said Ramirez.
