Congratulations to Hillary Millman of In Better Words LLC who was recently presented the Business Council of Westchester’s Ambassador of the Year Award. Millman is a marketing and communications consultant whose company is a New York State-certified woman-owned business. In Better Words, which she launched in 2012, helps business owners reach and persuade their target audiences and works with nonprofit leaders to promote advocacy and fundraising efforts, events and services.
Millman was formerly the Director of Communications for the BCW as well as an adjunct instructor at the College of Westchester in White Plains where she taught business, marketing, and public speaking. In 2019, she was named a 40 Under 40 Rising Star by the BCW. She is President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Development Officers and a 2011 graduate of Leadership Westchester.
“The Business Council is an incredible resource because there are so many opportunities to build relationships, learn from experts, and find other professionals to hire and collaborate with. Being an Ambassador gives me the chance to help new members create a strategy to maximize their investment and be more successful – which in turn helps build our community and economy,” said Millman.
“Hillary is the consummate professional but brings the unique background of not only being an entrepreneur business owner, but also a former committed BCW employee where I first had the privilege of meeting her. She truly makes a difference in the lives of the new BCW members she mentors and we’re lucky to have her on the Ambassador Team,” said Michael J. Schiliro, Senior Vice President at PCSB Bank and BCW Board member who serves as Chairman of the BCW Ambassador Program.
The BCW’s Ambassador Program was created 16 years ago and is one of the BCW’s most popular signature programs. Longtime BCW members volunteer their time, energy and expertise to mentor and guide new members through their first year of membership. Every member who joins the BCW is partnered with an Ambassador. This year’s award was presented at the BCW’s Annual New Year Blast held January 14.
