Family-owned grocer DeCicco & Sons opened its ninth store at 777 White Plains Road in Eastchester on October 9, continuing to provide the great service and selection that customers expect from them.
In addition, DeCicco & Sons has received praise for the stringent safety measures it has taken in all its stores to protect customers and employees.
The new store features heightened safety measures, including wide aisles, lots of plexiglass partitions, a 25 percent reduced capacity at all times and a new “deli concierge” for ordering sliced meats. It also means “no touch” ways to get prepared foods.
And, in keeping with the standards the company has already set, there are special shopping hours for seniors and immunocompromised individuals. The store was the first to work with OpenTable to allow for grocery store reservations.
“Safety is our top priority,” stressed co-founder John DeCicco, Sr. “Safety for our customers and safety for our employees.”
Customers in Eastchester can expect many of the same features that have made DeCicco & Sons’ other locations local favorites with devoted followings. That includes an onsite bar and pub featuring a burger and barbecue menu as well as a coffee and juice bar.
Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of the Business Council of Westchester, congratulated DeCicco & Sons on the latest addition.
“DeCicco & Sons has been the leader in the region in providing a safe and comfortable shopping experience during COVID,” said Marsha Gordon. “The culture of this family-owned business, and BCW Westchester Hall of Fame winner, represents the very best in business…and especially food shopping. Their new location in Eastchester continues their tradition of great food, excellent service and a wonderful shopping experience.’’
