Big Boost for Healthcare
In a big boost for the area’s healthcare industry, Governor Cuomo announced Wednesday $94.5 million to support projects that will protect and transform the Mid-Hudson Region’s health care system. Among the 10 facilities receiving funding, six are in Westchester. They include BCW members Montefiore Health System ($65 million), White Plains Hospital ($7.5 million), Open Door Family Medical Center ($3.7 million), Bethel Nursing Home ($2.5 million), Visiting Nurse Association of the Hudson Valley ($1.2 million) and Westchester Institute for Human Development ($376,826). The funding, which is part of the $491 million Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program, will improve patient care through the development of high-quality medical facilities and programs serving the inpatient, primary care, mental health, substance use disorder and long-term care needs of communities throughout New York State.
