More Affordable Apartments Coming Soon to Yonkers
BCW Member Macquesten Development LLC is proposing to build a new 16-story multifamily residential building in Yonkers that would feature 160 apartments all of which would be priced in the affordable category.
Called The Parker, the project will be built at 632-636 S. Broadway, near the Yonkers border with Riverdale and Van Cortlandt Park. It would feature eight studio apartments, 75 one-bedroom units, 57 two-bedroom units and 20 three-bedroom apartments. Amenities would include a fitness center and laundry facility. There would be 144 off-street parking spaces provided for residents.
MacQuesten has developed numerous commercial and residential projects in New York City and Westchester, including affordable housing and senior housing. The company is a member of the BCW’s Smart Development Coalition.
Also in Yonkers, the Yonkers Industrial Development Agency (YIDA) voted this week preliminary approval of financial incentives for a $56.8 million affordable housing project for low-income seniors. Located at 345 McLean Avenue, the 12-story residential building will feature 105 studio, one-and two-bedroom apartments for seniors 62 years of age and older whose income is at or below 60% of Westchester County’s Area Median Income (AMI).
Residents of the building will have access to a community room equipped with computers, a library, recreational space, property managers office, Supportive Housing office, laundry room and bike storage. The building will have 53 covered and uncovered parking spaces. The property is located on the east side of McLean Avenue, west of the Saw Mill River Parkway. It abuts Van Cortlandt Park in New York City to the south and a mix of residential and commercial properties to the north. The project is being developed by Verus Development, a subsidiary of Trinity Associates, LLC.
