Throughout her career at WCA, first as Deputy Director (2008–2018) and then as Executive Director, Lake has been a passionate force for equity and opportunity. She led initiatives that have transformed child and family outcomes across the county, from championing access to health insurance and education, to securing resources during the COVID-19 pandemic for digital access and remote learning.
Her legacy includes spearheading WCA’s leadership role in the successful passage of New York State’s Raise the Age Law, ensuring youth under 18 are no longer prosecuted as adults. Most recently, Governor Kathy Hochul appointed her to serve on the New York State Child Poverty Reduction Advisory Council, where she continues to shape policy that will benefit generations to come.
“Allison’s dedication, vision, and relentless advocacy have strengthened WCA and advanced justice and opportunity for children across Westchester,” said Board Chair Maris Krasnow. “We are proud to celebrate her legacy and everything she has done to move our mission forward.”
The event will include remarks from community leaders, colleagues, and special guests, as well as light fare and beverages.
