Westchester Ballet Company To Perform “The Nutcracker ” At Esteemed Lehman Center for the Performing Arts
Ossining-based Westchester Ballet Company (WBC), one of the oldest regional nonprofit youth ballet companies in the United States, returns to the esteemed Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in the Bronx for a third year this December, with its world-class production of “The Nutcracker.” Tickets are now available for three performances across Saturday and Sunday – December 16 and 17, 2023.
This year’s performance will see 16-year-old Lily Rivera of Ossining perform “Clara” and “Dew Drop”; “The Nutcracker,” a role historically performed by an adult guest artist, will be performed this year by 17-year-old Henry Hoffman, also from Ossining; and 14-year-old Chris Harrington Schiermbock of Croton-on-Hudson will perform “Russian” – the youngest dancer to be cast in this role in WBC’s 73-year history.
Amy Harte, Board President, Westchester Ballet Company remarked “We are witnessing a ground swell of interest this year from local schools across the Bronx and Westchester who want to bring arts enrichment experiences to their students. Close to 4,400 children will join us at Lehman this year for these special matinees – doubling last year’s audience of young people.”
The generous underwriting support from our sponsors means that no school group is turned away for lack of resources. These supporters include Montefiore Einstein, JP Morgan Chase & Co., W.P. Carey, and the Geiger Stern Team at William Raveis.
TICKETS for the three remaining shows on December 16 and 17 can be purchased at www.TheNutcrackerWestchesterBallet.com and LehmanCenter.org; by phone at (718) 960-8833; or at Lehman Center Box Office located at 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West, Bronx, NY, 10468. Tickets range from $25-$55. This production is part of Lehman Center’s Performing Arts Series which receives support from GOYA.
