WARTBURG CELEBRATES 10TH ANNUAL JAZZ IN JUNE WITH TITO PUENTE, JR.

Wartburg, an award-winning provider of comprehensive senior residential and healthcare services, celebrated their 10th Annual Jazz in June fundraiser, on their campus on June 16, 2022. The Latin inspired event was held on Wartburg’s meadow with nearly three hundred guests and fifty sponsors. This year’s event featured local performers including students from Lagond Music School in Elmsford and the energetic Tito Puente, Jr. a Latin Jazz performer who keeps the legacy of his renowned father alive through music.

The celebration honored several of Wartburg’s community partners. Lehrer Cumming was presented with the Partners in Building Award. The Lutheran Church Extension Fund was awarded the Partners in Service Award. Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center received the Community Partner Award, and the Knights of Columbus Council 410 Mount Vernon was presented the Volunteer Service Award.

“We are grateful to our many partners who enable us to continue to provide quality service and allow us to build to meet the needs of our community,” said President David J. Gentner, Ed.D. “It was such a fun evening – and terrific to see people return to the meadow.”

Major sponsors for Jazz in June 2022 included AgeWell New York, Alzheimer’s Association, Parker Jewish Institute, Montefiore Mount Vernon, Montefiore New Rochelle, Morrison Community Living, Consigli Construction, Lehrer Cumming, Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center, Michael & Cathleen Holden, PharmScript LLC, Ulrich J. (Rick) and Noreen Rosa, The Westchester Public Private Partnership for Aging Services, and Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services.

“We could not be more thankful for the outpouring of support from the community through our Jazz in June gala,” said Rose Cappa Rotunno, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Wartburg. “I am so thankful for the many sponsors and volunteers who helped make the event successful. Wartburg is an amazing facility, and this support will enable us to continue to serve our community in the best way possible.”
