TOMPKINS FINANCIAL ADVISORS’ JOHN P. GENN TO CO-CHAIR HUDSON VALLEY ESTATE PLANNING COUNCIL EVENT

Hudson Valley, NY, October 3, 2017 – Tompkins Financial Advisors, the wealth management firm of Tompkins Financial Advisors with locations throughout Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties, has announced John P. Genn III, vice president and senior trust officer, has been named as co-chair of the Hudson Valley Estate Planning Council’s (HVEPC) Estate Planning Day event at Marist College in Poughkeepsie on Saturday, October 14. Genn, who lives in Pawling and has more than 30 years of experience in trust administration, serves as secretary of the HVEPC.

The half-day event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and consist of six 35-minute presentations by various estate planning professionals. Scheduled topics include Essential Estate Planning Tools: Will, Power of Attorney, Advance Healthcare Directives; Cyber Security and Estate Planning; IRAs and Annuities in Estate Planning; Planned Giving as Part of an Effective Estate Plan; Snowbird Planning & Considerations; plus Medicare and Medicaid Planning.

The HVPC’s professional estate planning members are dedicated to networking and educational opportunities related to the industry. Attorney Stewart Glenn of Glenn & Breheney, PLLC in Newburgh, is co-chair of the organization’s October 14 event with Genn.
