Tompkins Excavating Receives Summit Community Engagement Award

Tompkins Excavating ongoing support and commitment to the community has earned recognition from Nolan Consulting with the Summit Community Engagement Certification.

Ms. Tompkins, President and Owner of Tompkins Excavating, said: “On behalf of everyone at Tompkins Excavating we are proud to receive this certification as a testament to our continued support and involvement in the community in which we live.”

Nolan Consulting Group understands the importance of giving back to the community and recognizes when someone is truly dedicated to making a difference. When members are generously giving of their time, treasure, and talent, Nolan awards them with the Summit Community Engagement Certification.

Summit Certifications have stringent requirements and standards are high to receive this award.

Tompkins Excavating won recognition for the Summit Certification because she met numerous criteria set by the Nolan Consulting Group. These are but a few of the general conditions and standards as set by Nolan Consulting:

● Demonstrated strong enthusiasm for getting involved in their community
● Field hours and management hours volunteered- documented and earned
● Minimum of 4 events participation; dollars and/or materials and supplies donated
● Vendor relationships established in the community to show support and the company’s efforts, along with supporting documentation
● List of boards, committees, or other organizations candidate and team are supporting in the community
● List of awards and or recognition from community sites, social media, or other organizations, and documentation along with emails, photos, and other communication

Ms. Tompkins and her team’s numerous contributions have included such programs as Feeding Westchester, Girls Inc, Support Connection of Westchester, Habitat for Humanity, Putnam Valley Central School District, Jan Peek House, Community Cares of Mahopac, and the Community Center of Northern Westchester and more.

As President and Owner of Tompkins Excavating, Stacey Tompkins delivers almost two decades worth of experience and leadership capabilities to Tompkins Excavating. In fact, after joining her family’s firm in 1992 and becoming president in 2013, Stacey Tompkins played a crucial role in taking her family’s business from a small-time mowing service to a full-scale commercial and residential excavation company.

Under her visionary leadership, Tompkins Excavating has received several prestigious awards, including the Business Council of Westchester’s 2019 Hall of Fame – Women in Business Success, New York State Senate’s 2019 Women of Distinction, Women in Leadership Award from The Putnam County Chambers of Commerce (2018), Business of the Year from the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce (2017), New York and New Jersey Brava Award Honoree (2017), 914 Inc. magazine’s Women in Business Award (2016), a Family-Owned Business Award from Westfair Communications (2016), a Cornerstone Award from Habitat for Humanity (2015) and a Mature Trailblazer award from The Putnam County Chambers of Commerce (2013). Tompkins Excavating is also a finalist for the 2022 Contractor of the Year Award from Equipment World magazine. The award winner will be announced in March of this year at a ceremony in Las Vegas, NV.

Stacey is also a board member of the Business Council of Westchester and The Building and Realty Institute. In addition, she is an active member of the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce, Putnam County Business Council, and the Professional Woman of Putnam. She is also a newly elected trustee for the town of Putnam Valley.
