TMB Promotes Kristin Westervelt and Cynthia Cretara

Tompkins Mahopac Bank (TMB) has announced the promotions of Kristin Westervelt and Cynthia Cretara, both with the bank’s human resources department.

As assistant vice president, senior learning and development business partner, Westervelt, an officer with the bank, concentrates on training and educational programs, work with business partners, support and mentorship of the bank’s learning and development department, and assignments plus reconciliation of the firm’s annual company compliance assignments.

Prior to her current position, Westervelt was a business partner in TMB’s learning and development department and before that held several human resources positions at New Horizons Resources. She is a member of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Hudson Valley Young Professionals committee, volunteers as a Career Coach at Dress for Success Dutchess County, was 2014 co-chair of Putnam County Cystic Fibrosis Walk for Mahopac Bank, served as the 2010 United Way Employee Campaign Manager, is a Leadership Dutchess Class of 2018 Participant and Project Co-Lead, and is a 2018 Forty Under 40 Mover & Shaker honoree through the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Westervelt also supports various community events.

Westervelt has a master’s in human resource management from Mercy College, and a bachelor’s in psychology from Marist College. She lives in Poughkeepsie with her husband.

A human resources specialist, Cretara has been promoted to officer status. With 14 years of experience in the financial/banking industry, including two separate positions with Tompkins, Cretara focuses on supporting team members with issues related to human resources, and works with the departments’ special projects, benefits administration, performance, management, recruiting, payroll and policies and procedures initiatives. She also administers the company’s employee recognition program.

Cretara is a member for the company’s Hudson Valley Young Professionals group and supports community organizations and happenings, including the Cystic Fibrosis Walk and American Cancer Society events, plus the local food pantry and Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. She holds a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in human resource management from Post University and lives in Stormville, New York, with her husband and two children.
