The Mental Health Association of WestchesterAppointments, Promotions, & Clients MHA Westchester: Offering a Community of Care
The Mental Health Association of Westchester (MHA) has launched a new Community Connection Support Line. In the face of adversity, human connection is more important than ever. Offering conversation and support, the Community Connection Support Line is available to all members of the community – at no cost – and is staffed by credentialed MHA staff, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. To reach the Community Connection Support Line, call 914-219-4232.
MHA’s virtual doors remain open, as well. The community-based non-profit is accepting referrals for new clients, as well as continuing to provide services already engaged with the agency. Services are delivered primarily through TeleHealth technologies, and in-person services are available when necessary.
“The challenges, uncertainty and loss of connection to usual supports that we are all experiencing at this time may result, understandably, in increased feelings of stress, anxiety and depression,” said Dr. Barbara Bernstein, MHA’s Chief Planning Officer. “Taking care of our mental health is as vital as taking care of our physical health for the long term.”
MHA’s team of licensed mental health professionals includes Social Workers, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselors, Peer Specialists, Care Managers and Nurse Practitioners. The range of services include clinics throughout Westchester and Rockland counties, at which a sliding fee scale ensures that services are available regardless of ability to pay or insurance status. At Westchester clinics, MHA can serve children as young as five; at Rockland, children as young as three.
To learn more and connect with services, please contact MHA’s Central Schedulers at (914) 345-0700 ext. 7350.
