New Free Green Construction Training Program Launches in Westchester to Boost Clean Energy Workforce

BCW member, Soulful Synergy, is excited to launch its free Green Construction Training Program on August 11th, 2025, in New Rochelle. Funded by the New York Power Authority (NYPA), this six-week program will train 80 participants from disadvantaged communities for careers in the high-growth clean energy sector. Participants will gain hands-on experience in electrification and weatherization while earning industry-recognized certifications and job placement support.

This program marks a significant step forward in NYPA’s commitment to workforce development, particularly in disadvantaged communities. The partnership with Soulful Synergy supports a community-centered approach to addressing workforce gaps in one of New York’s fastest-growing sectors, creating long-term opportunities for trainees in the clean energy field.

Students can choose between two hands-on training tracks:

Weatherization – Learn green building fundamentals, energy efficiency, and how to make homes healthier and more climate resilient while earning industry-recognized certifications, including OSHA 30, Site Safety Training (SST), and BPI Building Science Principles. This cohort starts on August 11th, 2025.

2. Electrification – Learn to install and maintain heat pumps, EV charging stations, and smart building systems while earning certifications including OSHA 30, GPRO Fundamentals of Building Green, and SST. This cohort is scheduled to start in October 2025.

The Green Construction Training Program kicks off August 11th, 2025, and runs Monday through Friday for 30 hours per week. For accepted participants, the program is completely free! This opportunity is perfect for anyone ready to launch their career in clean energy.
