Introduction to NYS SSBCI Technical Assistance Program: Access to Capital and Surety Bonding

The New York State Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Surety Bond Assistance Program provides assistance to help contractors and other small businesses secure access to capital and the surety bonding required to bid on and execute publicly funded projects. SSBCI guarantees up to 30%, or $600,000, whichever is less, of a bond line or individual contract bid. Approval is based on both underwriting by a participating surety company and is subject to ESD review. An eligible applicant is a New York State small business or a Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Individual (SEDI) owned business with at least two years of business operations, or a very small business with 9 or fewer employees.
