Harris Beach Murtha’s Thriving Immigration Practice Adds Two Experienced Attorneys

(July 13, 2026) — Harris Beach Murtha recently hired two experienced immigration attorneys to handle complex employment-based immigration matters.

Eric S. Hause and Bilal B. Sultan, both Senior Counsel, join the firm’s rapidly expanding Immigration Practice Group to tackle complex immigration matters and assist with workforce compliance. They’ll represent clients in a diverse array of industries, including technology, engineering, health care and higher education. Eric is based in Harris Beach Murtha’s Stamford office and Bilal is based in the Albany office.

Their experience includes supporting E-2, E-3, F-1 OPT, STEM OPT, H-1B, H-1B1, J-1, J-1 Waivers, L-1, O-1, and TN visas, PERM Labor Certification, I-140 (including EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3) and I-485 applications, adjustment of status, naturalization and much more.

Eric S. Hause partners with clients to navigate complex immigration matters from initial strategy through final adjudication. He handles large-scale PERM sponsorship programs, with experience managing work for several high-volume multinational corporations. He also advises corporate clients on a wide range of issues, including I-9 compliance, corporate immigration sponsorship programs, federal anti-discrimination laws and PERM recruitment regulations. He’s experienced with complex requests for evidence, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) appeals, Department of Labor (DOL) Motion to Reconsider filings and Board of Alien Labor Certification Appeals (BALCA) appeals.

He’s also represented business professionals, physicians, finance professionals, engineers and technology experts in obtaining non-immigrant and immigrant visas, including H-1B, O-1, L-1, E-2, EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-2 NIW, and EB-3.

Eric has worked in immigration law for more than a decade. Immediately prior to joining Harris Beach Murtha, he worked for a nationally recognized labor and employment firm, assisting medium to large corporate clients with their global talent workforce.

Bilal B. Sultan manages high-volume immigration programs for large and midsize employers, collaborating with clients to develop comprehensive immigration solutions and programs tailored to their specific employment needs. He advises employers on complex immigration strategies pertaining to hiring and retaining foreign national workers, including providing legal guidance on matters related to I-9 and workforce compliance, as well as corporate restructurings affecting immigration.

He oversees the preparation and filing of nonimmigrant petitions, including H-1B, H-1B1, L-1, O-1, TN, E-3, J-1, as well as immigrant visas, including the PERM Labor Certification Process, EB-1/EB-2/EB-3 I-140 petitions and I-485 applications.

Prior to joining Harris Beach Murtha, Bilal worked at national corporate immigration firms and served as in-house immigration counsel for a Fortune 300 company.
