Fullerton Beck Secures Discontinuance of All Claims in Medical Malpractice Case

Fullerton Beck’s Medical Malpractice team successfully secured a discontinuance on all claims for a hospital client in a medical malpractice lawsuit involving allegations of pressure ulcers leading to sepsis, internal bleeding, and wrongful death.

Attorney Laura Russell filed a compelling motion for summary judgment, arguing that the pressure ulcers developed before the decedent’s admission to the hospital and remained stable during its care. Additionally, she argued that any subsequent deterioration was unavoidable due to the decedent’s advanced age and multiple co-morbidities, despite the hospital providing appropriate treatment.

Faced with the strength of our arguments, the plaintiff’s counsel opted to discontinue all claims against the hospital rather than challenge our motion. This result highlights Fullerton Beck’s dedication to delivering outstanding legal defense for our healthcare clients.
