Filomena Fanelli of Impact PR Steps Into PRSSA Advisory Role
Impact PR & Communications, Ltd. Founder and CEO Filomena Fanelli has stepped into the role of professional advisor for the Public Relations Student Society of America’s (PRSSA) Marist College chapter. PRSSA is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications, and a part of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). In her role, Fanelli will offer professional guidance to Marist College student board members in the areas of guest speakers, agency tours and industry best practices.
Involvement in PRSA is of great importance to Impact PR, an award-winning PR and communications agency with a four-state footprint and base in New York’s Hudson Valley – the home of Marist College. Fanelli serves on the executive committee of PRSA’s Counselors Academy and is the group’s past conference chair, and Executive Vice President Kate Wark is a director serving on the board of PRSA’s Westfair Chapter, serving Westchester and Fairfield Counties. Joining PRSSA in an advisory role is a natural extension of the agency’s dedication to professional development at all levels.
“We have welcomed many Marist College students and alumni to our agency through the years, both as interns and full-time employees,” said Fanelli. “We know how valuable it is for members at the collegiate level to link to more seasoned PR professionals. Frankly, it’s valuable for us, too. I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working in partnership with the Marist PRSSA board to share what I can about the PR industry I know and love.”
“We are so grateful to have Filomena as our professional advisor this year,” said Madeline Byford, president of the Marist PRSSA. “With her varied experiences and extensive knowledge of PR, I know she will be an invaluable asset to Marist’s chapter of PRSSA.”
