Ebony White Completes Prestigious Fellowship
Congratulations to Ebony White, the BCW’s Director of Workforce and Employer Development, who recently completed the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives’ Fellowship for Education Attainment. White was one of just 20 professionals who completed the fellowship, which is designed for chamber of commerce executives and senior staff members who organize workforce development opportunities for their communities.
During the year-long program, participants shared best practices, reviewed case studies and learned from national experts, and were required to develop and execute a regional action plan to meet their community’s educational attainment needs.
“Ebony White is an amazing young woman, and we are so proud of her accomplishment,” said BCW President and CEO Marsha Gordon. “She has been integral in promoting one of the BCW’s top priorities, which is helping to connect young people with jobs in this county. Her work, exemplified by this week’s Youth Summit, has helped provide educational and occupational opportunities for young people.’’
A graduate of Howard University, White joined the BCW in 2007 as office coordinator and assumed her current position in September 2015. Aside from her day-to-day efforts to better prepare Westchester’s future workers, she has been a driving force behind the BCW’s annual Youth Summit, which enables attendees to gain valuable advice and insight from community leaders and business professionals.
