Dorf Nelson & Zauderer LLP Welcomes Renowned Entertainment Attorney David H. Chidekel to Head New Media, Entertainment & Technology Group

Acclaimed entertainment lawyer David H. Chidekel has joined Dorf Nelson & Zauderer LLP as a Partner and Head of the firm’s new Media, Entertainment & Technology Group.

Throughout his career, Mr. Chidekel has represented premier clients on both the talent and industry sides of the music, film, television, sports, publishing, and other branches of the media and entertainment industries. His clients have included top-tier music talent, including CeeLo Green, Robert “Kool” Bell (Kool & The Gang), Marky Ramone (The Ramones), and members of the Wu-Tang Clan. Mr. Chidekel has also worked with many of the innovators behind the digital-music revolution, including Napster, Grooveshark, and BitTorrent, even serving as Chief Commercial Officer of BitTorrent, positioning him at the forefront of music and technology.

Music has always been a part of Mr. Chidekel’s life. He began playing the drums at age 8 and hasn’t stopped since. His familiarity with the challenges facing creators, together with his experience serving as outside general counsel to major and independent record labels, music publishers, and film and television production companies, renders him highly proficient at negotiating complex deals between the two camps.
