Bhava Therapy Group Hosts Parenting Workshop: “Is Your Teen Wearing You Down?” in White Plains

Bhava Therapy Group will host an in-person experiential workshop, Is Your Teen Wearing You Down?, at its Westchester office located at 55 Church Street, Suite 415, White Plains.

Led by Amir Levine, PhD, LCSW-R, Co-Founder and Clinical Director of Bhava Therapy Group, this workshop is designed to help parents better understand teen development, navigate communication challenges, and rebuild connection during one of the most emotionally complex stages of family life.

Many parents find themselves feeling exhausted, frustrated, and unsure of how to reach their teen. Conflict, emotional shutdown, withdrawal, and recurring arguments can leave families feeling disconnected and overwhelmed. This workshop reframes those experiences not as parental failure, but as opportunities to better understand what is happening beneath adolescent behavior and learn healthier ways of responding.

Participants will learn:
– How teen biopsychosocial development impacts behavior and communication
– How to recognize and regulate their own emotional responses during conflict
– Practical strategies for de-escalating tension
– How to communicate without triggering defensiveness
– Ways to reconnect after moments of disconnection

“This workshop is about helping parents better understand both their teens and themselves,” says Amir Levine. “When we begin to understand what is happening beneath the behavior, communication can shift from reaction and conflict toward connection and understanding.”

The workshop is practical, experiential, and grounded in The Bhava Method, Bhava Therapy Group’s relational and embodied therapeutic approach. Attendees will leave with tools they can begin applying immediately in everyday family interactions.

Date: Wednesday, June 10th
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
