BCW Events Lead To Business Contracts

My partner, Greg, and I lead The Jazz Leadership Project (JLP), an innovative approach to personal and team development through the entertaining insights of jazz music. For those who may not be familiar with us, JLP has designed a whole-brain model that demonstrates collaborative leadership and team alignment for today’s challenging and volatile work world.

Relatively new to the Council, we were eager to make connections, so we attended several events to meet fellow members. We met BCW Board Member Michael Schiliro at a new member session and some months thereafter presented a half-day workshop for the annual meeting of the Executive Resource Professionals group.

At another event, we introduced ourselves to a panelist, Joan Jacobs, Vice President of Learning and Inclusion at Con Edison. During the subsequent weeks, we followed up with Ms. Jacobs, and eventually secured a contract to present at Con Ed’s Strategic Issues Seminar.

In May 2019, we facilitated an hour and a half Introductory Workshop entitled HIGH-PERFORMANCE LEADERSHIP: A Jazz Lens to 120 Con Edison employees at their Union Square offices in New York City.
The presentation featured a live jazz trio and focused on our principle of ENSEMBLE MINDSET℠ as a tool to strengthen collective purpose, elevate inclusive team synergy, and enhance creativity. We’re happy to report that our workshop was very well- received.

Thanks to the Business Council of Westchester for providing the means for us to meet and develop new clients!
