Archbishop Stepinac High School Expands Collaboration with Burke Rehabilitation to Provide Comprehensive Sports Medicine Services

WHITE PLAINS, NY – June 11, 2025 – Archbishop Stepinac High School, announced today its expanded relationship with Burke Rehabilitation®, a nationally recognized and accredited not-for-profit healthcare provider specializing in rehabilitation treatment, research, and graduate medical education, to deliver comprehensive sports medicine services to its student-athletes.

Effective August 1, 2025, this multi-year agreement will enhance the health, safety, and performance of Stepinac’s athletic programs through the expert medical care and support of Burke Rehabilitation, fostering a positive impact on the entire Stepinac community.

“Working in tandem with Burke Rehabilitation ensures our student-athletes receive top-tier sports medicine care,” said Michael O’Donnell, Athletic Director at Archbishop Stepinac High School. “This collaboration provides exceptional medical support and services, empowering our athletes to compete confidently and excel both on and off the field.”

Through this collaboration, Burke Rehabilitation will provide highly qualified physicians and certified athletic trainers (ATCs) to support in a range of sports, including football, soccer, basketball, wrestling, baseball, lacrosse, Gaelic football, and rugby. Burke’s Sports Medicine Fellowship Program Director, Bram Newman, MD, FAAPMR, CAQSM, DipABLM, will serve as the Medical Director for Stepinac Athletics, overseeing coordinated care, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, including HIPAA and FERPA privacy standards.

In addition to their sideline presence, Burke physicians will also offer engaging lectures and workshops to educate athletes, parents, and coaches on critical sports health topics, including concussion protocols. These initiatives will aim to promote informed decision-making and enhance the overall well-being of the Stepinac athletic community.
