Andrus Fall Festival Welcomes NY Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins
Andrus proudly welcomed back families, staff, and community partners to its first Fall Festival since 2019, marking the joyful return of one of the organization’s most beloved traditions. The event, held on the Andrus campus at 1156 North Broadway in Yonkers, drew hundreds of attendees for a day of fun, laughter, and community connection.
The celebration was graced by New York State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins, who joined in recognizing Andrus’s ongoing commitment to children and families. Hastings-on-Hudson Mayor Nicola Armacost and a representative from Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano’s office also attended, underscoring the shared dedication to strengthening community partnerships and family well-being across Westchester County.
Guests enjoyed a variety of activities, including pumpkin and face painting, games, rides, and interactive booths hosted by local service organizations. A highlight of the day was a special visit from Yonkers’ own Lost Borough Ice Cream, which delighted attendees of all ages with sweet treats.
Andrus extended heartfelt thanks to Wegmans Supermarkets, which generously donated pumpkins, allowing every child to enjoy painting and taking one home. Their contribution helped make the day even more memorable for the children and families who attended.
The event also brought together several community partners, including Sister to Sister International, the Yonkers Public Library, the Sanctuary Institute at Andrus, Family Services of Westchester, and members of the Yonkers Police and Hastings Fire Departments.
“We were thrilled to welcome our community back on campus and come together again for this celebration,” said Corine E. Lurry-Mabin, President and CEO of Andrus. “The Fall Festival represents everything we stand for — connection, family, and healing. After several years apart, it was wonderful to see so many smiles across our campus again.”
The Fall Festival reflects Andrus’s mission to create safe, nurturing, and inclusive spaces where children and families can thrive.
