HVGD Firm in Croton Wins Prestigious Graphic Design USA Award
Hudson Valley Graphic Design firm based in Croton on Hudson has recently been named a 2019 Graphic Design USA Design Award recipient for Logo Design on behalf of two of the firms Hudson Valley based clients. Hudson Valley Graphic Design was presented with this years’ awards in the category of Health + Wellness for their graphic design work for The W.A.Y. Hastings Coalition (Working Alliance for Youth) and PeriWinkle Wellness of Westchester. For more than five decades, Graphic Design USA has sponsored competitions to spotlight areas of excellence and opportunity for creative professionals in the design field.
The talented design team at Hudson Valley Graphic Design has created hundreds of logos and brands for businesses for the past 30 years and chose to submit these two particular branding projects based on their clients efforts in assisting local communities in raising awareness in the heatlh and wellness arenas. The W.A.Y. Hastings Coalition is a group of committed citizens that include all sectors of the Hastings-on-Hudson community including but not limited to youth, parents, educators, community members, police department, local business owners and the faith community. The goal of the coalition is to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco and other harmful substances among the youth. PeriWinkle Wellness is a brand that helps women navigate the menopause years while providing supplements and ongoing support. “Both of these community groups work tirelessly in their efforts to help the people of Westchester. The Way brings awareness to Westchester residents about the dangers of substance abuse in teens and PeriWinkle Wellness offers encouragement to women as they transition through the menopausal phase of life,” said Janeen Violante, Principal and Lead Designer at HVGD. “We were able to incorporate their visions and brand identities into both of these award-winning unique logo designs.”
According to Graphic Design USA the 2019 Health + Wellness Design Awards showcase takes the big picture: traditional medicine and healthcare, healthy lifestyles and nutrition, and community and public health challenges. This year’s competition recorded nearly 2,400 entries and displays 150 winning pieces and the winners represent ad agencies, design firms, In-house agencies, and freelancers doing outstanding work on behalf of innovative companies, institutions and brands at the center of the national economy and conversation makers. Hudson Valley Graphic Design was selected by a professional panel of judges who chooses the best of the best and awarded a Certificate of Excellence to the top 15 percent. Graphic Design USA’s American Graphic Design Awards is their original and flagship competition, open to the entire community and honors outstanding work of all kinds and across all media. “The design team at Hudson Valley Graphic Design is very honored to receive this distinction for the fourth consecutive year and to have our design work on behalf of two of our local clients recognized by our peers,” added Violante. “Earning these awards from a national graphic design company sets us apart from our competition and showcases the quality branding work we produce every year for all of our individual clients.”
Hudson Valley Graphic Design won this award in 2018 for Lago Restaurants’ Moreno Olive Oil packaging, in 2017 for their branding design for their client True Cocktails and in 2016 for their branding and logo design work for the WillYUM Spice Company, all businesses also based in Westchester County.
