Hudson Valley Still in Running for Amazon HQ

The New York City metro area, including the Hudson Valley, is still in the running as a possible location for Amazon new headquarters. On Thursday, the company announced that it had narrowed the contenders to 20 finalists with the New York Metro area and Newark among the potential locations locally.
“It’s very exciting that we are still under consideration,’’ said Business Council of Westchester’s President and CEO Marsha Gordon. “This will bring in great jobs, great opportunities for the community, Westchester and the entire Hudson Valley.”
Hundreds of cities submitted proposals to Amazon, hoping to become the home of the company’s second headquarters, which is estimated to employee 50,000 people and pump an estimated $38 billion into the local economy.
